The Madison Herb Society is dedicated, as a non-profit organization, to the education of its members and the general public with regard to the culture and use of herbs. In the past, this organization was involved in the planning, maintenance and use of the Herb Garden at Olbrich Botanical Gardens and continues to contribute funds annually to its preservation.
Regular workshops, seminars, lectures, and demonstrations provide a forum for exchange of interests, ideas, and knowledge regarding herbs. The quarterly MHS newsletter and monthly announcements keep MHS members in touch with upcoming events, articles regarding the culinary and wellness use of herbs, as well as decorative projects. The annual Herb Fair, sponsored by the Madison Herb Society, reaches out to the public through lectures and demonstrations, and provides an outlet for members to expand their knowledge and abilities to use herbs.
Meetings are held monthly from September to May at the Olbrich Botanical Gardens in Madison, Wisconsin, and annually include an Herbal Tea and a Holiday Potluck for members and their guests.
The Madison Herb Society is organized exclusively for charitable, educational, religious or scientific purposes within the meaning of section 501© (4) of the Internal Revenue Code.
